    It isn't low though, 1.40 x 20.87 = 29.22 putts per 18 holes.

Why do you multiply those 2 stats? Doesn't it already say he averages 20.87? (Even that doesn't make sense. 1.4 x 18 = 25.2 putts  per round. )

Ranked rounds are either 9 or 18 holes, the statistics do not add your total number of putts and then divide by 18. In order to get your 18 hole putting average you have to multiply your putts per hole by your putts per round.

The reason I know is because way back I asked wgtNiv for an explanation of how the putting stats were calculated. I was assuming, like most, that my average putts per round was for 18 holes. I knew the figure was way too low. He told me that you had to do the multiplication. On doing so the figure made sense of what I knew I was achieving at that time.

with a combined 2 and 3 putt% of 71.59% i have no idea how avg putts per hole is 1.40 unless they mayb chip alot on greens

This players putting stats look to be totally wrong.

They have scored 3,429 eagles/birdies/pars/bogey etc in total, in ranked mode. This equates to 381 9 hole rounds.

Total putts are 4,815. Divide that by 381 and it comes up with 12.64 per 9 holes.

That cannot be possible unless my logic is way off the mark. That is possible given I have had 2 hours sleep since Sunday morning.

Oddly enough, 1.40 x 9=12.6. It looks like that average per round is off.

You just multiply the putts per hole by 18.

Multiplying by the putts per round would only work if you knew exactly how many 9 and 18 hole rounds you had played.

In fact, in the thread you quoted it tells you this already.

    Hi tiffer,

Unfortunately that stat is a bit misleading because at this stage a round can be either 9 or 18 holes.  I would recommend multiplying your Putts Per Hole (1.60) by 18.  That gives you 28.8ppr and is probably a more accurate representation of your play.
