Wind and terrain affect spin?

  I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out what to expect from the spin on the ball.  I recently hit a shot from 152 yards out with full spin (Callaway Tour i(s) and Burner 2.0) and 29 mph tail wind.  The ball hit about 15 yds in front of the hole on a down slope.  It went on to roll 69 yds beyond the hole.  There was a bit of down slope on the green, but nothing to account for that much additional yardage.  I don't know how I could have played the shot any differently.  Here's the replay.

  ya, that pin sucks:)

  you basically landed on huge down slope. with that wing./pin i'd hit 125 club and aim left so it just land on flat and release and then settle for 30-40fter from left.

  if you hit a better drive and have like 110 left (if you try to split the fairway on left) you can then go at it with a wedge.

  backspin does virtuallly nothing with a 29mph tailwind with a mid iron.  Just like in the real word the wind overpowers the spin and the ball effectively has no spin or sometimes even top spin (guess we all need some square groove clubs).  Even with BS landing on a downslope will cause the ball to pitch forward and then roll out with any club except a very lofted wedge. The really great players (on here) can calculate their landing distance to drop the ball just before the crest of the hump allowing the hill to slow the ball and have it gently roll down the slope.  Not being one of those I typically play a run up shot if there is an opening to the green since I know the ball will roll out considerablly more downwind.
