Mr. TheAceFactor...I will take your advice under consideration, so thank you. My current set up is an R-11 3 wood (with a high trajectory) and the Srixonian Z Balls. I have thought, as you did, about where i might need a hybrid, or more importantly how often, and have come to somewhat of a conclusion. As i do not find myself in too many "nasty lies" off the tee (as a hybrid would only be needed after an arrant tee shot), also i'm assuming a "nasty lie" is that of 30% + rough. I'm of the opinion that to replace my 3-wood, which i use quite often, with a hybrid for just those rare occasions is not prudent. If i do happen to find myself in a lie of the nasty nature, i take what i can get with which ever iron is appropriate and try to get up and down with a skilled wedge shot which lands like a butterfly with sore feet. Although, as i move up in the ranks, i will be more likely to consider the switch you have suggested as the greens appear to play more like glass than the mulch bed greens i'm used to putting / landing on now. Also considering the higher the level, the further the hybrids travel, thus reducing the need for a 240 yd 3-wood. And yes i do realize the tees move back when you get to higher tiers.
