PLEASE - every now and then i forget about it, and i find it to be totally useless: when sitting on the fringe, the putter speed is automatically set to maximum speed (150y with standard). Most of the time the smallest speed is enough, and when you don't pay attention, you smash the ball into the water (great when you paid for your balls!), bunker or whatever. Remove it, it's crap.

    Thx

    Hi

you should always try to pay attention and adjust. Not only your club/meter but also aim.

I completely agree with Finnek. It automatically chooses the right distance meter every other time, why screw it up with having it pick 150' when you're barely on the fringe?

Have you guys not realized by now, it doesnt matter what the Consumer or User thinks its what WGT thinks. Yes it is very stupid when your 10ft. on the fringe from the hole and it automatically sets your putter at 150ft. But its up to you the player to notice that and adjust.

Like I said it doesnt matter what You think its what WGT and there cronies think.

I also think, Finnek is right. Usually you can go with "what the caddie suggests", so why does he suggest such crap when your barely on the fringe, 6 ft from the hole?

Basically it has to do with an auto aim algorithm and something screws up when it hits fringe. It's a bit more complex than from green because fringe + different green speeds + elevation act much different than just green speed.
I always refer it to this way: punishment for sleeping on the course. I hit that meter a few times before as well

whats so hard about having a routine

check your distance, wind speed, lie, club selection, read the green...

heck, having the putter go to the 150 meter is basically telling you that your ball is on the fringe and not on the green.

if  your regular meter came up and you didnt realize you were on the fringe, your putt would come up short.  One more thing to complain about.

Get a routine, stick to it,  you wont go wrong

There is something convincing to this. So I will step back and stop complaining and start playing again.
