    Hammerfest:
how can i get this scale?

What scale are you referring to? Each putter has at least 3 scales and that's what posters are referring to. As was mentioned earlier, you change these scales with the up and down arrow on the left by the putter yardage.

i agree, shorter putts just need a decision on how far left or right of the str8 meter

On "Very Fast" Greens take the total distance and either add or subtract by inches above or below and then divide by 1.2

    IE - 20 foot putt with 3 inches above hole would be 20+3 = 23  /  1.2 = 19.16 feet

    IE - 14 foot putt 4 inches down would be...14-4 = 10   /  1.2 = 8.33 feet

    Works everytime

Tournament Greens = divide by 1.3

    Fast Greens = 1.1

    Hope this helps.

Very helpful tutorial.  I tried it today after reading it and immediately started getting closer to the cup and made more putts as well.

I haven't played many tournament greens but I can attest to the one inch being equal to one foot in distance rule on very fast greens.  Only one exception to this applies, if you have greater than eight inches of down slope you should take a little bit extra off the putt.  For example, 20' putt w/8" down slope I would give enough power into the putt for only a ten footer, not twelve.

This is where a lot pf players break down. The momentum of the ball is hard to gauge and often gets overlooked but is really important. That 8" drop could easily act like a 9 or 10. Good thinking, Shape.

I'd go even more shallow than 8 inches honestly.  Probably 5-6 inches will create enough momentum to go several feet past the hole if not read properly.  Next thing you know, you are 5 feet past the hole.

Great points Yankee and shape..ty...Would you also agree on severe uphill putts, one should add a little extra power? I usually add "some" extra to all uphill putts, the longer the putt distance and the more severe the incline ,the more I add. No exact formulas here, probably impossible and more of a feel and experience thing. Any thoughts or comments?
