    pmm711:
I believe its been stated by Champion that Wolf Creek is getting released with only one pin location per hole. If that’s the case then WGT definitely dropped the ball. Especially since they spent a bunch of time there taking additional photos. One day they’ll figure it out. I mean get all the pics when you’re there and dedicated to the cause. It’s hard enough to get there once. Return pic taking efforts are tougher to plan.

There was a time when they released a new course in the spring with one set of pins, and then in the winter doldrums rolled out a second set of pins (e.g. Congressional, Merion and a couple of others). There are other courses we were waiting a long time for a second set of pins that never came - very disappointing (e.g. Royal St George's, Olympic). In the case of Kiawah, it was understood for years that there was only ever going to be one set of pins, but they managed to produce another one nonetheless (despite some complaints that the second set did not read so true).

In real life, pin placements can be varied indefinitely, but a well-designed green has maybe four principal zones where the pin might go, controlling the strategy for the hole. I would love to see them aim for something like 4 sets of pins per hole.

Exceedingly unlikely.  And as the 2020 US Open is at Winged Foot which is reported to be far to snooty to let the likes of WGT on their hallowed turf, I personally cannot see getting a new 18 hole course until 2021.

And to add insult to injury, for some as yet unexplained reason WGT has so far refused to add any of the additional pin placements we were told they had already photographed.

    GREAT business model (not!!!!!!)

I ask the following honestly not knowing the answer - did someone at WGT (like one of the nice Mods) tells us this or was it just from forum talk?  I ask because it seems WGT does not let out much information on anything until it is about to happen or has just happened.

We can hope something happens with pin placements and/or new courses!

It was the co-owner of WGT before TopGolf, Mr. WGT he called himself,  who used to occasionally post in the forums,

    It's official!

MisterWGT (Chad), then their CEO, wrote or said a few years ago that they were shooting two pin positions on each hole. I'm guessing that KIA was the only exception (which they cured eventually).

There is no doubt at all - that 2-pins on each course would liven this game up enormously!

I mean, 3 would be better - but lets not aim for the stars.

Playing a 2-pin course is so much more unpredictable - and therefore more exciting.

Are we not supposed to be getting a full 18-hole version of one of the Bandon courses before then?

yes i agree we should have more courses

people will get bored playing the same courses it gets a bit tedious when you are making a lot of money from players .

you could set new challenges/ you will in my eyes get people leaving as the courses are a bit boring. you should get all the feedback from what  everyone wants ie players and act

The study -- titled "Golf Around The World" -- said there are 34,011 golf courses in the world, 45 percent of which are in the United States. The current total of 15,372courses in the U.S. so sure you can add more

i guess you have to pay a fee but im sure you can pay it and get more players in

cost of good balls add as 10.00 plus clubs plus everthing

that all i got to say
