Hey, it's Ellis***e here, and that joke will mean nothing to those who hadn't been here for long.

In case you haven't noticed (and you most likely haven't...), I haven't been here very often over the last year. I hardly play any rounds (12 in the last 4 months), and I've run no tourneys. In other words, the love appears to have been lost for this game.

The thing is, I don't WANT to lose what I had in this game. Whenever I play it, I still enjoy it, but there's something... Missing that keeps me playing, day in and day out like I used to. Maybe I need to enter more WGT-run tourneys. Maybe I need to re-find the community tourney scene. Maybe I need to run another of my own. I just don't know.

Now some of you have been around for the last 3 years, and I have to ask; What keeps you here? If you leave for a while, what brought you back? If I could refind that magic, and get myself back into the great community here, I would be more than pleased.

Any advice is welcomed, and I thank you for reading. After all, it was about 3 paragraphs longer than it needed to be!

For me, its being part of an alt shot league and playing with teammates.  Having regular partners, against people you know is more exciting than just randoms.

Hate to tell you, but I'm actually a mod on WGTLS, so I know all too well about the Guilds!

Hi Ellis , 1'st I'd like to say,  I too was away from the game for several months and I would not recommend this to anyone. My rhythm ....went somewhere else to say the least , but  thankfully not lost.  IMO ,  you should ask yourself why your here , as in ...is it friends ?  or  a competitive fire ?  Setting up and running tournaments ?   So , 1'st find yourself again.

O.K. it is also my opinion that there are 2 types of players here.  Golfers who play here at WGT.....and  Gamers who just happen to be playing a golf game.....BIG difference. So I'll say this with nothing but  love .....If you Ellis are a golfer ,then  get your ass back out on the course where it belongs.

                                                                                                                                 .

LOL...Ellie, November of 2008 for me..........me too, im struggling with the fact that i just dont seem to improve like others,    im athletically inclined and love real golf , when i found this site it seemed like perfect fit for rainy days and spare time, even kept me from looking at porno sites...LOL.... 1500 rounds, and 3 years later im still here trying to win, and failing..........but i like the CC, the friends, and enjoy reading the forums, and CC posts for great info, and some tremendous laughs.      Hey, get involved with your English Lakes pals, you're in one wgt's best and most respected CC's...........and then read Lizzie Rosetti posts........yancy and andysons too........then play your heart out.    Heres an oldie for you:

Hi Ellis, thanks for your post. I myself strongly relate to your situation. RIght now I'm kinda on a vacation away from wgt because I've played so many rounds recently I just needed to depart myself from it a little bit. If you want to keep it interesting for yourself I would suggest telling people you know in real life about this game. I started doing this with my friends and personally find it a lot more fun. Hope my comment helps!

My game seems to go downhill lately. Last score I posted, the server said, "shouldn't you go back to TM tees"

    :( :( :(

I haven't been on for 3 years but do have 1 1/2 years under my belt and do feel burnout sometimes too, but my competitive nature and a close knit group of c.c. members keeps me going, like Kurt said I find that my scoring has topped out, and don't seem to be improving anymore but just playing with the other guys in my club that I've gotten to know well over the past year has kept me coming back for more!!

I'm a gamer. Actually, me being a gamer is most of the reason I've disappeared. Damn you Microsoft and your Box of X's!

It's the comradery with those on my friend's list and my Country club that keeps me coming back. For me, this is my facebook. Golfers are the world's elite as far as character and sense of humor are concerned. Relish in the relationships you cultivate, and show others that they can depend on you. That shows true character.
