AlaskanDame: +1000 (except for the last sentence - I don't think it's necessarily "funny" nor a "waste" by other people who want to amass XP either for self, club, or both. We each play this game for our own reasons, and I respect that some people's reasons can be different from mine.)
In response to this and LuckyStar5's comment after:
AlaskanDame is a level 118 club owner, LuckyStar5 is a 122 level club owner and I am a level 117 owner of Black Diamond GC. Certainly, I and others have been using the now-deceased glitch to pile up points for our clubs.
I do not think that was BHenke2's (and he is a member of my club) point. What he was saying was there is no substitute to learning this game the hard way. Play all courses, all conditions, learn holes, adjust and get better. Just buying equipment is not the solution. You both know that or you would not be where you are.
Especially on higher end equipment, a lot of it is preference and playing style. I could have a wild debate in my club about the top level Callaway (ex-Nike) vs. R1 Taylor iron. And since BHenke2 likes his level 98 Sabertooth, no reason to move. After multiple free rentals, I still hate it.
I'm still using the level 76-80 Cleveland wedges. I've never seen a reason to change. But I for sure saw a reason to buy the level 103 driver and the top Callaway 3w.
But I do see WGT has made it a lot easier for newer players (last 2-3 years) to climb through the ranks with more forgiving equipment. It might get them to Legend or TL faster, but it won't make them better players.
