I have read a lot of the talk on here about the xp points and so on. The only problem with the custom courses is they do not effect you average. The custom switch should be turned on so if a sub round is shot it will lower the average. Without the custom's not lowering you average and no xp's  they are a waste and money.

I just wonder how many $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ the xp bonus round generated for wgt. It will come to pass when these are not played and players do not advance as they once did it will decrease the amount of ball and equipment sold decreasing wgt income.

    Just my 2 cents

A ton of money.  That's what surprised me the most about suddenly fixing this after a year and a half.  After all, they are a business and they are about making money.

Blimey Lucky, if your wife cares about your "equipment" she must surely be alarmed to find you only have 1 ball left!

LMFAO!!!!!      It's all about "quality"....NOT quantity...........

+1000 (except for the last sentence - I don't think it's necessarily "funny" nor a "waste" by other people who want to amass XP either for self, club, or both.  We each play this game for our own reasons, and I respect that some people's reasons can be different from mine.)

In response to this and LuckyStar5's comment after:

AlaskanDame is a level 118 club owner, LuckyStar5 is a 122 level club owner and I am a level 117 owner of Black Diamond GC.  Certainly, I and others have been using the now-deceased glitch to pile up points for our clubs.

I do not think that was BHenke2's (and he is a member of my club) point.  What he was saying was there is no substitute to learning this game the hard way.  Play all courses, all conditions, learn holes, adjust and get better.  Just buying equipment is not the solution.  You both know that or you would not be where you are.

Especially on higher end equipment, a lot of it is preference and playing style.  I could have a wild debate in my club about the top level Callaway (ex-Nike) vs. R1 Taylor iron.  And since BHenke2 likes his level 98 Sabertooth, no reason to move.  After multiple free rentals, I still hate it.

I'm still using the level 76-80 Cleveland wedges.  I've never seen a reason to change.  But I for sure saw a reason to buy the level 103 driver and the top Callaway 3w.

But I do see WGT has made it a lot easier for newer players (last 2-3 years) to climb through the ranks with more forgiving equipment.  It might get them to Legend or TL faster, but it won't make them better players.

    Tom.

. . that glitch was around so long that most of us got used to it and accepted it as a normal part of the game.  Now it's gone some folk are likely to throw the toys out of the pram.

    That's a Fokker

    Cheers!

It's very true what he said about experience, and if I'm not mistaken, xp is short for experience points. If I misunderstood what he was saying then apologize for me. I guess it's still a touchy thing with me, not being able to play for real any more. As far as equipment goes,, even with the very best, there might be a dozen holes here, that play as a par 4, that I still can't reach in 2, ie pinehurst. Can't imagine trying to reach them with lesser equipment. You are correct, I worked very hard to get my club up to level 12 in just over a year, and the equipment that's available to the lower levels is actually fenominal, compared to just 1 1/2 years ago. Kinda makes me want to start over, lol, not really. Sorry if I offended anyone. Yes I hate to see the glitch go, but we don't make the rules, nor the decisions, and yet it makes no sense to me, but we need to just deal with it.

Yes, I did try to time my once a day combo so that the high-award round (due to the RIP glitch) was my first round of the wgt day, with a free CC pass, long after I personally needed points to buy equipment or to level up.  However, I was actually referring to my accepting that one of my club members enjoyed chasing EXP with the glitch several times a day, buying passes each time to also give those points to the club.  She just passed the ten million mark this week, while I and my co-owner are well-back from that at around the 4.5 and 3.5 million marks.  I don't share her XP drive/interest, but it works for her, and she insists that it's fun (mostly), so who am I to say she's "wasting" money in a "funny" way?  (She also puts up purses for tourneys and participates in Forum discussions and encouragement of other members - wonderful all-round member with just that one "quirk," lol! )

I also have a member who, at this moment, has bought his sixth pass in the last hour in order to play beaucoup rounds during our final Clash match-up with a club that has scored 32 whole points and our club is firmly below the 50th mark with 6000 points in this round.  Do I want to spend my own credits that way?  No.  But I accept that it is evidently how he has fun!

And I totally see Lucky's points.  This game costs lots less than our real golf did, and while we miss the outdoor kind (as well as our former physical abilities), this is a past-time and (can be) a community that helps fill that hole.

What’s the point in having positions
    4-10
    11-25
    26-50

If they all have the same reward? That makes no sense at all ! Actually pretty corrupt that a team that comes in 4th with 100,000 + points gets the same reward as a team in 50th with 40,000 points . That’s a 60,000 point 200 plus rounds played difference .

While I am personally indifferent on WGT’s decision to eradicate the “XP Exploit”, I could see where many would be outraged. Many individuals’ entire game experience has revolved around chasing XP and this exploit was hands down, he most effective method. It is also going to be very difficult for startup clubs to level up to that of the already established clubs in the game.

It seems WGT is going to take the hardest hit on this modification. I think there will be numerous players that will now struggle to justify using CC passes throughout the day with such a minimal reward of XP being compiled next to their name on the leaderboard. This dramatic reduction of CC passes and balls used to accrue that XP will result in a noticeable drop in WGT revenue.

It may be time for WGT to finally add the Clash Rewards that have been advertised as “coming soon” for almost a year now to offset the drop in CC passes and balls used between clashes. While many clash for the thrill of competition, there are also many that struggle to justify using a multitude of CC passes during the event for a such modest number of CC passes, tee/flag graphics, and course builders as a reward for those efforts.

In the end, it seems there is a large niche of xp hunting players that will find themselves at the foul end of the stick as well as WGT losing out on the commodity that keeps this entire ship charging forward, $$$$. Someone is going to have to answer some hard questions in front of the TopGolf Board of Directors in the coming months. Best of luck to whomever that individual may be.
