fmagnets:A very friendly game against Nigel (Wutpa) just now. He played a fine 7 holes on what is a difficult UEL course, and on most days I'd have been in trouble. Luckily some pre-match Erin practice paid off, so I was able to sneak through. Thanks Nigel, and well done on an excellent tournament.

It was a pleasure to meet and play with fmagnets. I say "with", but I should perhaps say "in the vicinity of", because he opened a gap between us early on and just kept widening it with every shot.
He is being very kind about my game while modestly not mentioning that he birdied every hole, and never looked like he wouldn't. Faultless play on a track designed to exploit any mistakes. And I think I ably demonstrated what form those mistakes can take.
But I was unreasonably delighted to halve a couple of holes, and I'll always cherish the memory of not getting left face down in a ditch too early in the match.
Thanks for the game, it was great fun (as they all should be), and played with great humour and friendliness. Good luck in the rest of the competition!
And finally, thank you so much for putting this all together Carlo. It's been a blast and I greatly appreciate being allowed to take part in it.
