More friends means a worse meter?

  I keep hearing from others that the more friends you have the worse your meter performance/choppiness is. This sounds like some sort of conspiracy theory to me, anybody care to comment?

  I reduced my list from 137 to 24 and it made no difference at all. Same things still happen at random.

  Despite the previous response, I am convinced of the connection between number of WGT friends and frequency of meter glitches. There was a forum thread a few months ago on this subject --> http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/50481.aspx

  My friends list had grown over the last year and a half to over 150. Because the game window has a link to all your friends signed on to WGT and updates with each friend log-on and status change, these activities inject a pulse of 'noise' into the game window. If the change happens to occur during your down-stroke while the meter is running, it will glitch.

  As a result of the discussion referred to, I reluctantly 'killed off' all my friends except fellow members of my club - <10 friends. Meter glitches were not totally eliminated but they were reduced by 80% - 90%!

  What REALLY convinced me to go through this difficult process were reports that some of WGT top players regularly reduced their WGT friends to ZERO in preparation for participating in the Virtual Open tournaments.

  I have 180+ friends and have no probs with the meter. 

  I live on the other side of the world...and depends on the amount of your friends that is logged on at the same time as you... or maybe is the workload on Wgt Servors...hmmm

  My best (amount of friends logged on)  at any one time is 33.

  Im  not sure on this one,i have  over 1200 on mine,But everyday i come on here i see say about 12 too 15  friends online. then  when i go too start a game and try too  inv a friend i open the friend list too invite and it will say probably about 3 or 4 too invite.

    Im sure there must be a  limit of friends u can have because out of 1200+  id expect  more online than  3/4  ?   but yes my meters been the same since day 1  when i  had no  friends on my  list so i dont think its that.  Its WGT  they need get there act  together  here for the PAYING CUSTOMERS. 

    Ogh  by the way why is this  game  the   oldest game on the Net Still on Beta Version /  Over 4  yrs now isnt it.. maybe  thats the prob or the Servers because theres a  lot on here.at any1  time

  defriended 254, only have 1 now.  my meter is 99.9% good, only when i inadverternualy put to much pressure on my right click at the same time i am clicking the left one does my meter ever mis-behave.  to give proper credit would be impossiable, as i went thru several suggested menus, of which was the most influential, i don't know, but i do know that after the defriending was completed, over a 3day period, i did see a significant differance.  my nickel, hope it helps someone.

  I got rid of my friends kept 5 i have not had a meter problem in 3 mos.

  currently have over 3100 friends and no problems with the meter.  I use Game Booster which turns off 28 different things that normally run in background.  People who are having problems with meter should get Game Booster.  Its free and really works

  28 is that all? Mine usually turns off around 60 or so.
