It is so bad now. at many greens elevation number lie. especialy at uphill.

for example: this is pure downhill and -4 elevation ....

    Do you have an example?

Anyway, are you just comparing your putting results with your predictions or do you have some way of getting true measurements on greens?

When my results diagree with my predictions/expectations, it means my predictions/expectations were wrong - but maybe that is just me.

That -4 change in elevation is the difference between where you are standing and where the hole is. It doesn't say anything about what happens along the way.

From your example, it looks like the pin and you are on the same level (almost) but there's a big dip in the green before you get there.

+1 There`s a whole lot of real estate between you and the flag . Anything that can go wrong usually will with type of putt ,especially when playing high winds . The wind is going to have some effect on that putt due to the distance .

So dont let the looks fool you . Thats what causes you to misread the putt . You`ll see one thing but its really something else . If you watch real golf its happens to the best of them every time .

Or you can simply pull out a wedge and...

    oh nevermind.

Actually, from where he is in the picture, I wouldn't think twice about going to a wedge.
