Hi Guys and Gals, I am trying to get a handle on how the wind affects ball flight. My problem is that I'm not exactly sure what direction the wind is blowing in relation to the ball flight indicator. When you get a camera angle that is not directly along the flight of the ball then I am never sure if the wind speed indicator is relative to the ball flight arc or the green as the camera displays it. Do you guys know what I mean?

    Can you help?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Not sure if I follow you correctly but I get both views and if they are different then make a decision and hope it's right. It is hard to judge on angles but with some experience, you can get consistently good guesses.

I think he means the wind direction in relation from the high up cam view and the hole map , bottom right of screen , i find it varies a fair amount

    Oh,

well, I think it's natural. No wind is 100% perfect in real life either. Just because it blows from left to right does not make it at 3pm exactly. Many times it varies to 2pm or 4pm and so on.

This thread might help you out. Also try using the behind the green camera. Sometimes the wind arrow is more accurate with that camera.

I have learned to take a quick look at the approaching the green camera, and then the behind the green camera, if I have time.  The combination of both views gives a better read on the wind direction and results in a better chance of a really close shot to the hole.
