Just an update:  Using a fairway wood off the tee is still not being counted towards driving accuracy.

Hi infinito, per PGA rules, driving accuracy is only counted when hitting drivers off the tee.

    Thanks for the info.

Question, should the drive using a fairway would be discounted as part of your stats.

For example, there is 7 holes where a driver could be used.  Six holes a driver was used and the 7th hole a fairway wood.  Hence the number of holes using the driver is 6 not 7.  Thus if I hit 5 out of 6 holes using a driver wouldn't the average be 5/6*100.

Presently if I use a fairway wood off the tee, the hole is counted as a missed fairway.  As I said, I must be missing something here.

Pardon my ignorance, can you refer me to the rule, I was not able to find it.

Hi infinito, my mistake, on a par 4 or 5, it shouldn't matter which club you use off the tee. It's driving average that takes only shots using drivers into account.

Also, can you confirm that the shot you took ended with the ball in the fairway?

    Thanks, we'll look into this.

Yes I can, and here is a score card to show just that.

Here is the front and back nine scores on Bethpage black from wk_39.

If you notice not one fairway was missed.  However, due to wind, and or playing for position I decided to use a fairway wood on the 4th and 6th holes.  The resulting driving accuracy should have been 100%. However, it wasn't.  Both fairway woods off the tee were counted as missed fairways.  As per the stats of this hole.

As you notice the driving accuracy is only 86%.  Which translates to 12 out of 14 fairways hit.  But the score card shows differently.

Glad I was able to help.

And ~THAT~, ladies and gentlemen, is how to report a bug.

Well done, Infinito3010.  There is no confusion there, complete and very coherent.

    Thanks for finding this.

searching the forums for answers about 3W off the tee

recently checked my stats and my driving accuracy is down to 28%

makes no sense that a drive with a 3W will count as a FIR on the card yet not register at all in your stats   yet at the same time the 0% dirving accuracy for the round still counts against your cumulative driving %

maybe i should get a Driver

    Happy Golfing

    Joe

This problem is still occurring.  Just hit 10 of 14 fairways according to my card on BPB but 0% fairway on my driving stats.  Since switching to a 3w for driving (at the time it's all I had credits for) my overall driving accuracy has dropped from 89% to 59%.

Winski, your stats change using the driver only. 3 woods don't count as a driver. That's just the way it is here.

Switch back to your driver and you'll see your driving stats go back up.
