Gentlemen, Bethpage Black Hole # 7 in real life is a par 5 - What's up with WGT having it as a par 4?

    hi

the course plays as in US Open settings, where I believe it is par 4.

I know this. but in 2008, it played as par 70, where both 10 and 7 were converted to par 4's

I posted that link to show the OP that you were indeed correct.

At the time (2009) #7 was the longest par 4 in US Open history.

As to par, that's just a number...at the end of the day, all that really matters is how many strokes you took.  So just hit it, chase it, then hit it again...the guy that does it the fewest times wins.

Apparently it didn't bother the pros much. #5 and #15 played the hardest of all the holes in the US Open. That hole from the Legend tees now is just a tough par 4 that will yield an occasional birdie if the pin is right or you can putt.

#5 have to be very careful with this hole, or bogey comes around most of the time... hmmm

#7 would be nice if that was a par5, with the same yardage from the blacks... hehehe
