It is always amusing that someone always thinks that everything is a scam.
My dealings with WGT have been nothing but professional. Every deposit that I have made has gone through perfectly. Any winnings that I have always hit my account. I qualified for the US Open last year, Open last year and both this year as well. I received my letters from the USGA and prizes in a fairly timely basis. I received my prizes from the Open as well, fairly timely and in good order.
There are some of the free credit offers that are a little suspect. Those are not administered by WGT but rather by the companies who sell the product. My only issue with WGT is that maybe they should drop the ones who receive a lot of complaints from their members, for example the auto insurance quote that gives you 850 credits seems to not work for anyone so it should be dropped or at least they should be contacted by WGT and told that they have unusually complaint volume.
I also have been pleased by the response by all the WGT members to my questions and any problems that I have, for example I was somehow able to enter a premium tournament that I should not have been allowed to enter. I withdrew thinking that I couldn't win anything and there was some flaw. WGT returned my credits within a few hours of me contacting them and giving them the details.
It's a quality game, there are flaws in the site, the connections, etc. but you are free to go elsewhere and try to find something better, I don't think you will.
