Balls taken out of play

  Can someone tell me why balls are taken out of play when you don't lose them, I can understand if you put them in the water or unplayable lie. It gets rather expensive.

   

  Any new on this would be great

  Artimus.. just as in real life golf, they wear out.

  This is why you have a small 'hits' meter on the bottom of your screen.. when the bar gets to be red, the ball is about to be taken out of play.

  So, yes.. it is expensive to keep custom golf-balls.
