I am hoping that someone can help me. I have no problem logging onto WGT but when I try to play a particular game the game page does not open. I am not sure what to do and am hoping someone can give me some advice....Thanks

With your browser open, press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE.

If you get any options for what you should clear, clear out everything. It may not be completely necessary to get rid of everything, but starting off with a clean browser is a good start.

Don’t open WGT to the main page. Type http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx into your browser. This should  open the game client page.

I have the game client page set as my browser start-up page and haven’t had to play by clicking on play now for several years.

Something very strange is going on here and I've been waiting to see if others might be having the same problem. The OP's problem comes close.

Anything that involves Flash won't stay connected to WGT. I can't get past 2 holes without seeing the "WGT can't connect" message and when I click "yes" to try again sometimes it reconnects, sometimes it takes many "yeses" to reconnect and sometime you see the corrupt browser message. It never stops. Play 1 hole and start all over.

As I am responding here, now, I see that the log in box and friends list has disappeared and in their place is that can't connect message. As far as I can tell it involves Flash in some way because I'm logged on and able to post. I have done the obvious things to eliminate causes and have even gone to another browser to verify it.

The only thing I have left is the local ISP that I use here at my shop. I can't rule them out even though I reset my modem. When I go home I will have a different ISP and am hoping that proves something, IDK. This all started Friday PM EST.  :-(

p.s., I was about to PM you, Joe, when I saw your post so I laid it out here.

I just played a 9 hole CC tourney round with no problems.Quick loads and  no can't connect messages.

Other than different ISP's the only other difference is you use an older version flash and I stay up to date. And your version of flash has worked well for you so it probably isn't that.

I'm pretty sure it's ISP related or a balky server between me and WGT. My internet light on the modem blinks erratically at times (I never noticed if it did regularly) and I was able to just finish a CC tourney where the game ran like usual for 4 holes but then the dance started at the end.

Oddly enough, in the troubleshooting process, I logged on to the game on my iPad and got the mobile version of "can't connect." That's totally a wireless connection (whereas my laptop has wireless with hard connection backup) so I looked at that by turning off wireless on the laptop-no change. Reopened the app and was able to log in this time.

During the numerous re-tries I would get partial loads and have to restart and during the game I was able to play I saw a number of delays between loads. In fact, a screen switching or a swing taken is when the issue crops up-like any time data needs to get transferred.

    Sumptin' ain't right.  :-(

*edit--Turns out it was the local ISP because it fixed itself. Not sure why all other web navigation wasn't affected, though, never lost the internet, just the game.

I was getting the same issue the other day.  Was going nutz trying to figure it out.  Troubleshooting and rebooting modem etc.   Then one day boom, back to normal.  I was getting slower than normal internet speeds too when it was happening.  Then speed was back to normal.  Thinking it was the ISP as well here.
