  By the way, you can get onto these forums on a mobile, but you can't log in, which is annoying.

  I think we'd see quite a few mobile phones smashed on pavements/sidewalks because of those sudden meter glitches...    It's quite easy to do. I know that ever since I joined this site, I've felt like throwing the laptop out of the window a good dozen times, but something always restrained me at the last moment.

  can you play on a BB? I tried to at the verizon store the other day, but wgt required a new flash player. when I tried to download FP onto the phone, it was unsuccessful.

  Full-fledged Flash rarely works properly (or at all) on phones nowadays. And the Flash implementation in this game is resource-heavy, so it's unlikely ever to work on phones. Haven't heard of a phone with 1GB of RAM yet. It would have to be a different, simplified version of this game tailored for the phone environment, with drastically scaled-down graphics, etc. No more downloads of HD photographs. (Unless there was an installation package to be downloaded separately on the main computer, before launching the game on the phone.)

  For starters, it would be nice if at least these forums, PMs and Wall messages worked on the phone. But they don't (apart from simply getting displayed), because the login window is Flash-embedded as well, so there is no way to log in to your WGT account on the phone. (In contrast, logging in to phpBB-based forums works smoothly, as does submitting forum posts from the phone.)

  There're phones coming out now that look like they could run something like WGT. For example the HTC Desire HD runs the latest version of flash and comes with 768MB RAM. As these sort of specs become common there might be some more interest in the platform...

  Ryan, I tried playing WGT golf on the iPhone, see here. Let me tell you, though, the game in its present form is no joy on a mobile phone's tiny screen. The same will be true of HTC phones. There'd have to be a mobile version, per se, of this golf game, making the most of a phone's tiny screen.

  However, the game even in its present form would be really great to play on the iPad and other tablet computers. (Won't happen on iOS, though, until WGT abandon Flash, if they ever do.)

  Definitely agree with at least a "forum" version of WGT for mobile phones. The game itself would be hard to replicate on such a small screen I would think, really don't know how playable that would be either. Also, I would be skeered to death my iphone/ipad would be in danger of, well let's just say, my frustration getting the best of me ;).
