Why don’t we suggest to WGT to credit us the win when the opponent forfeits..I think players forfeit so it won’t go on their monthly win/lost record. It’s just so sad that I’m becoming one of them. I now forfeit on players that do the same thing to me. I can almost tell if they will forfeit or not, they don’t respond to friendly greetings before teeing off. Although it doesn’t seem much, I care about my monthly record, I work hard for it..

    What do you guys say?

I don't play many matches but it seems very strange to me that WGT does not treat a forfeit for what it is - a loss (and thus a win for the other player).

I know that if I end a round in a single play tournament I have lost by definition.

Unless there is mutual agreement to quit play, the round should be scored, win/loss.

Yes we should get the win if they forfeit. I should write WGT, maybe they’ll look into the matter.

It doesn’t seem that this idea is taken well by many..guess I need to master my forfeiture.

Then again, unless you're playing for credits, that win and a quarter will get you a phone call. Then you could call someone and have them explain just how meaningless wins and stats are.  :-)

Very true, win/loss stats are meaningless, for some..For me, I gauge my play thru my win/loss stats, and that’s how I continue to make changes in my game. Oh well, I can only play my game, not to worry about what everyone else’s.

Play with friends or club mates and you wont have to worry about people forfeiting , Otherwise it will happen , And the way WGT determines the winner is just the way it is I guess . Playing strangers is like a box of chocolates . You never know what your going to get .

I don’t have a problem players forfeiting, it’s built in the game, but the win must be recorded. Maybe things change in the future.

Sometimes a principle is worth considering - even if some people think it does not matter.
