You can aim to the left and miss the meter to the right, or visa versa.  You'll also have to account for loss of power, but missing the meter to a side is effective playing into a crosswind at times.

You can play a simulated draw or fade. It's not the same as the real thing but it does work fairly well. For a simulated draw aim right then click early just into the light blue part of the forgiveness area. For a simulated fade aim left and click late just before the bar moves into the dark blue part of the forgiveness area.It is actually either a controlled pull or a controlled push but it works to some extent. It might take a little practice to get where you feel comfortable with it but it does work. Also when used in conjunction with the punch shot playing this type of shot can get you out of some very sticky situations. When used with strong cross winds not changing the aim arrow and using this type of shot will keep you shot relatively straight. That is to say strong cross wind right to left hit a simulated fade, and strong cross wind left to right hit a simulated draw. I hope this helps.

The deliberate pull shot is a great shot to learn, all those over familiar with the trees on Bethpage No.2 really need to try it out.

I find myself playing the shot more and more particularly round RSG where the crosswinds are pretty severe. You'll lose some distance but you do get more control I feel. Very often I play my approach to Congressional No.6 and 11 this way, it takes the water out of the equation on both holes.

It's definitely a shot worth having in your locker....

My understanding has always been that draw/fade is a roadmap feature that WGT plans to introduce into the game at some point. Thus you see in the chart of club characteristics a ranking of 'Shot Shaping', but in the case of all of the clubs it is set at a minimum (one half of a dot). Presumably this characteristic would be adjusted if and when WGT decides that players should be given clear permission to begin working the ball (other than mis-hitting early or late like now).

Is it still on the roadmap? I don't know.

    Similar with downhill/uphill/sidehill lies.

In fact, uphill lies are already in effect in some places. If you play from steep rough above a bunker face on Oakmont, your ball will now pop up as if played from an uphill lie.

As I understand it they had it early on and it didn't work like they wanted it to and pulled it and said that it would not be back until they got it right.

It shouldn't be too difficult to achieve this.  I used to play a golf game on a PC 15 years ago (or more ) where you could position the feet such as to induce a draw or fade shot.  I think it was called "Links: Championship golf".  Everything was the same as WGT, except you can't use the feet to shape the shot.

Maybe there is a patent on the shot shaping this way but as this is how it can be achieved in real life i'm surprised WGT haven't thought about using it.

You are right, however I think that the speed of the game is much better without that feature

I would like to see the lie feature influence the shot, esp sidehill which would only require that you change your aim to take this into account.

For now I use the aim right or left and hit the shot early or late to simulate a draw or fade.  those shots can be useful on holes like BPB 2.
