Mind the difference:
Free rental on level-up is only 2 hours - you may extend it with a ranked round started during that time.
Regular rental for money (or during a free rental weekend) should last 24 hours - extendable as well.
The rented clubs stay in the bag when the time is over, alas unusable - you'd have to replace them with other clubs.
