I haven’t read all the replies in this string but have read a lot of them. I would like to throw in my 2 cents.
The PC app is good, but not quite as good as the mobile app yet. The mobile app plays smoother with virtually no shot meter jitters. The graphics are not as crystal clear on the PC as they are on my iPad. However, the interface is identical to the mobile app with very few exceptions. I’m sure all of that has been said before, so I’ll get into the meat of my argument.
I’ve read “the shot meter is too big” or “the shot meter doesn’t have the hash marks that we’re used to.” I’ve read “the wind meter is to small” or “I can’t aim using the small onscreen course map.” I’ve read a ton more. All of that is helpful advice. But there is a lot complaining that isn’t helpful.
It’s great that we all have opinions and would like to see some changes. However, there are thousands of us who play mobile exclusively. Take a look at the number of players in each room at any given time. That doesn’t include those who do not play in the rooms. (Thousands more). Nearly everyone in my Country Club plays WGT mobile exclusively. We even promote our club as a mobile only CC.
Yes, some people like all the carnival attire and turkey sounds when they hit the ball, but a ton of us play competitively and are trying to get better and better. Everyone plays for their own reasons. To each his own.
Most folks that play WGT mobile do not care for the PC version. It’s like playing a different game altogether. I’m sure playing mobile feels the same to the folks who play on a PC exclusively.
I’m sure when WGT started out, they did not imagine the ending of flash, yet it’s coming, and it’s not the mobile players fault this is coming. I hope I speak for most of my brothers and sisters who play mobile, we do not want it to be changed to play like the PC version. If we did, we would be playing on a PC and not an iPad or whatever. A tweak here and there is needed, but an all out redesign should never happen.
At one time I attempted to make the change to the PC version and all of my PC playing WGT friends said its a huge change, and I would have to do a ton of practicing to get the hang of it. I tried it and didn’t like it. So, my advise to all those who may have to make the switch to mobile or the PC app in the near future, is the same advise I was once given.
The point of the rant is, learn to play the app and you’ll be just fine. If you are already a great player, you will still be a great player in short order.
My 2 cents...
