My initial reaction to the new platform (early access to the desktop absent flash) is good.

I am very happy to see that after years of complaining about only right handed golfers as avatars, I can now finally play from the right side, which for me is left handed. Of course my game has not improved, but it looks more like me.

I am having trouble getting used to the swing meter especially off the tee. I hit early nearly all of the time and cannot understand why, other than there are fewer hatch marks to display increments on the swing meter and I tend to pull the trigger a bit too soon. I would surely like to see a swing meter closer to the original PC product.

The other problem I see with the software has to do with sound effects of the ball hitting the fairway on the drive. On the first bounce the ball and the sound of the ball hitting the turf is properly synchronized, and on the second as well. But there is a final "thud" sound when the ball makes its final return to earth that is NOT synchronized and appears a bit late which which is not in keeping with the usual precision of your game.

I especially appreciate the "heartbeat" sound when a well hit shot is going to land within (I suspect) ten feet of the pin.

Please keep improving this product which will become essential on New Year's Day.

Try focusing on the Ding line, while shooting. Use your peripheral vision and wait that extra second.

Good for you, your well on your way

I have had a few games n the new version and also agree about early hitting came up with the answer.....use cheaper balls as that will quicken up the sliding bar.

Yes it will . Too quick for me .

It appears that the timing for the meter is different . Probably take at least a few hundred rounds to get the timing down . For me .

I don't know if the meter moves at a different speed in the EA version but it is somewhat longer as it is widescreen, and that means it takes longer to reach the ding line. I was certainly hitting early a lot when I first started using it, but after some practice I adjusted and now I am close to the ding for most shots.

However, after adjusting in EA I found I was predominantly late playing in flash, so eventually I realised it had to be one or the other and that's why I committed to EA back in January.

But to repeat, practice is the key in my opinion. There's no real substitute for it.

When my name appears it is accompanied by my avatar picture.  How can I change that to a picture of myself (as many others have done)?

You can do it on the flash game or using EA. On Early Access go to Country Club >Forum> My Profile> Appearance>Change Avavtar.

    On PC:

Just go into your profile and click appearance, then change avatar.

Make sure you save it after.

There are two ways, one from your app (PCEA) and the other from your profile page. I find the latter easier.

THIS might be useful for you.

Paul - those screenshots from PCEA are amazing! How did you get them? Can you get screenshots from the game like we could in the original PC version?

I'm using Windows 10 professional and I have the snipping tool and the windows screen grab but they don't work during the game in full screen view. I have also tried the Steam version of the game. It looks and plays the same as the PCEA except it's missing spin and scratcher options, but, strangely, F12 gives you a screen shot. Can you enlighten me? hanks  johnniemo

For Spins and Scratchers, use the launcher or your phone.

Unfortunately, I have to have both Steam and the launcher on my desktop
