hi there. maybe s.o. can help me with a rather strange prob. its about my approach with the wedges, its a new problem and I don't really know where it is coming from:

Many of my approaches on 60 yards or less go far too short. It doesn't seem to make a difference if up or down or even straight. To keep it simple: If I have clear 40 yards distance with no up or downhill -  i do 50 % with my 80 yards wedge, it doesn't fit, comes far too short. Same with the 60yards wedge, very often too short, cannot hit 50% for a 30 yards distance.

Completely different with my irons by the way, which tells me that my calculation usually is quite ok. Still here i never do 50% or less, maybe thats the clue...

So I don't know if I am missing s.t. very simple here...if someone out here has a hint, I´d be thankfull :)

Callaway PM grind 19 56&60 (one of 'em 80 yards)

    Titlist Vokey SM7 64 (60 yards)

50 % hit will not hit it 50 % of the distance......it hits it around 35 to 40 %.........example if i hit my 50 yds wedge 50 % i know it goes 19 yds.....and not the 25 yds like you would think......most shots need to be hit with 90 % to be accurate....less than this then your going to have problems.......hope this helps regards mickey

Allright, then it’s that simple. Thanks a lot. I just wonder why it took me to level 80 to experience that problem ;) anyways, thank you, sir! Appreciate your help a lot.

Check out WaLK0fLiFe’s http://www.wgt.com/user/profile.aspx?userid=9609872  YouTube channel

He has posted a wedge chart, punch chip etc, it’ll give you a starting point!

    +1!

Meter % vs. power % is non-linear on all clubs except putters.

Starters (?perhaps also cheap clubs?) have a second limitation - they will work inconsistently below some 60 % power.

Putters are the only clubs with linear meter power, down to 5% ?and less?.

good advise........i use punch from 40 yds and in.....normally accurate to within 2ft.......a great way to avoid hitting half shots

    Some good advice above.

Try to hit shots where you are using at least 90% power - that means learning to hit all the shot types.  I usually try to keep power above 95% except for punch shots using the charted values.

@oliv8r,everything said above is excellent advice! My 2cents would be that possible you haven't experienced this until recently is that im guessing the pm's are a new addition to your bag and they have a higher spin rate. This spin rate would also affect overall distance, depending on what you're setting the balls spin at,and the ball you're using and its spin rating. Gl.
