I think most players would agree that callaways are the best balls on WGT, But what I would like is some feedback on what you think is the second best ball available in the pro shop. I'm talking about all the factors, distance, spin, life span and the biggie price!. I use the Callaway (s) in tourney's but because of the cost I use the wgt SD-GI vapor for everyday play. So please let me know what you like best, so I don't have to buy a sleeve of everything in the pro shop. Thanks!!

    Wow, so subjective...

I kinda gave up on Callaways after the last open qual...could not dial down the spin...having a lot better/less frustrating time with the Srixons...but really, all the top players use Cally's in one form or another.

I'd say try GI SD's and move up from there...all about what you can do with the ball, not me or anyone else..my second favorite ball might be someones least afvorite, etc.

    GL

If you want to keep the cost down, why do you use vapour balls?

Like MBaggese said it comes down to personal preference. My favorite second best ball is the WGT Tour-SD ball. It has the same attributes as the Tour GI-SD ball except it has no feel. If you can handle the faster meter speed then it is a great ball to use. Compared to the Tour GI-SD vapor ball it costs less than 1/2 as much, 65 credits per sleeve versus 135 credits per sleeve and it is slightly more durable having 1 1/2 dots to the Tour GI-SD's 1 dot.

Actually the Tour-SD is now my favorite ball. I haven't played with a Callaway since early June.

I work 10-12 hour a day, trucking through southern Germany... So i got money, but none to burn. But i can't see how anyone would pay more then 10 credits for a virtual ball... Ok anything is better then the free balls (hit the green and they never stop rolling). ROTFLMAO... I love reading these forums...

Well, if you like the game and begin moving up, you'll want to be competitive in RG's and MP's...pretty tough to make credits with the 10 cent balls.

Ain't that the truth.  As so often in life you've got to speculate to accumulate, you're going to struggle to post really good scores with cheapo balls but a pack of Cally's might just get you a good placing in a RG or 2 and more than cover their initial price.

It doesn't even take Cally's you can shoot very good scores with The Tour-SD ball and the tour GI-SD ball.

I agree with BTBS, GI-SD perform very well all round and don't cost the earth. But in the end it is completely up to what a player can achieve and their reaction time.

GI-SD I have about 40 of the Dove balls and I think they are the GI-SD but with vapor trail. They meter speed is only slightly faster than the Legend Callaway z. Good balls.
