second best ball.....

  Has anyone ever noticed.......When you buy WGT, Srixon or Callaway  balls that give you more feel or in other words slow your swing meter down, as you play a stroke game of 18 holes the meter speeds up as you play to the point that It is almost at the speed of the starter ball.... I thought it was my imagination for weeks now but I came up with the idea to play a couple of practice rounds in succession with the same ball and switch to the free ball for a third and I found almost no difference in the meter speed Immediately. I did this with all three different balls and found it wasn't as severe with the Callaways but it was with the WGT G1- SD and the Srixon. I also noted that when I log on to play at any time the balls always started out with there assigned feel but gradually speed up with play.

  I have been using the Srixon Z-star (level 11+) for a while now and am quite happy with it!  Yeah, the Callaway's are good but can tend to get a little pricey.  I have not used but for a few times the new Nike ball, and didn' t see that much of a difference with the Callaway, perhaps more spin.  I personally don't like a lot of spin. 

  Right now I am conducting my own test to see how long (how many strokes) does a ball get.  Finished first part of the test on the Srixon Z-star and it is averaging about 209 strokes per ball.  Next ball I'll test is the Callaway.

  Just my thoughts...

  Remember not to count the putts, because they do not contribute to wear & tear on the ball.  Though I once had a 150' putt at St. Andrews which I think slightly scuffed my ball.

  The GI2-SD2 is the next best comparable golf ball to the level 33+ Callaway. The GI2-SD2 offers good spin and feel for the price. At 155 credits, the level 33+ Callaway golf ball offers a dot and a half more of spin, and a half dot more of durability for an additional 100 credits over the GI2-SD2 golf ball. The question is, what is the extra attributes of the Callaway ball worth to you over the GI2-SD2?

  Well from a different perspective not being allowed to play RG's, I use the GI3-S balls and they do just fine. Kinda cheap and play well for a decent amount of holes. I've tried the Callaway(z) ball but I just can't seem to get the handle on the added distance they provide.

  And I thought I was just the only one. For me it doesn't matter because I have gotten used to it,  but it seems like about the 3rd hole is when the meter starts getting faster.

  I won't believe it until you use a stopwatch and prove it... just a few times of a full-meter "practice swing" at various points during a round would decide it. It's think it's just an illusion ... like when you use a "fast" ball for a while, a slow meter seems really slow.

  Like someone has a stopwatch for the meter speed. I said what I feel is what is happening and so be it.

  Not the case, no matter what type of ball my meter will speed up around the 3rd hole as I mentioned before.

  I use the free balls in all CTTH's and the meter is the same for all 9 holes, but when clearing everything cache, etc. before playing ranked rounds, ALT/Shot with different golf balls the meter will speed up.

  So let me guess. I have a Flash problem, not in your life.

  Thinking Mr. DelBosque is just looking for some empirical evidence... the application of the scientific method.
