but I dare say a lot of people do like playing RG's at Oakmont so it's all good.

exactly, I don't get the selfish wining about the selection...

Oakmont RG's are great, just shoot a few under and you'll get your money back at least for the most part.

3 courses is good for the rotation. This means they fill quicker, which mean that sometimes two will fire before the timer runs out on the first.. This means you will have less of a chance of having (insert name of virtual championship winner here) beating you EVERY time.... it'll just be every other time instead. :)

With so many in the rotation, they fill too slowly. the timer just acts like a speed bump instead of possibly spreading entrants out, and giving us >60 avg mortals a chance.

personally, I'd like to see 1 18 hole and 1 9 hole tiered event, instead of the 2 9's. (I pretty much only play the 18 holers.)

Not getting the motivation to play the current set. I agree that Sta should be set in stone.

Maybe have St.A, Beth and Oak set and then rotate the rest.

I play the 9 holers mostly and maybe a 18 hole every blue moon. I have better chance of getting back credits in the 9 Hole comps than the 18 hole comps.

    Cheers

.cause all I seem to get are full in the face 28-30 mph headwinds for at least 7 of the holes.

We must be teeing off at the same time..lol

Let me guess, one of the holes with the wind is a par 3, the other a 390 yard par 4..

Why? Just cause it's easy to shoot low there?

What do you think would happen if it was always there? After a few months you'd likely have to score a 61 to get 50cr back... a 56 to win the thing. That dosen't sound very fun to me.

I don't play many 18 hole comps for that reason. Apart from the 58 I shot at RSG in Open Qualifying, my best is 60 at Kiawah. For strange reason I struggle putting 2 good 9's together.

I play allot of 9 hole R/Go's because the 30,31's  will get you at least a Platinum (most of the time), which means you can get some good credits back.

With the other 2 courses I mentioned...  I Play Oakmont because of the greens (to get practice on). If you can putt good on those evil greens you can putt anywhere..lol

Beth.. Not a bad course to play, even in heavy winds and I enjoy playing it.

I'll still play any course but I try to not play courses I don't like very much.

    Cheers

Maybe its not all about the credits - maybe its about having fun and the enjoyment of playing rather than battling round a course you don't really like?

People pay to play in the RG's and premium tournaments, and people enjoy playing St Andrews, why force people who pay this site to play courses they may not enjoy so much?

Yes I like St Andrews - I do good and bad rounds as I'm sure everyone does, but I'll keep going back there first in the RG's and Stroke Play before I do the others.

Trouble is the Stroke Play tourneys seem to have a default setting of Heavy Wind these days which (could be just my opinion) I don't find much fun either

Missed my point a bit there. I used 18 hole rounds to illustrate my point, the same would apply to 9 hole rounds. If you leave any one course on the rotation too long, I'm thinking scores would just get ridiculous.

everyone struggles putting to good 9's together. If you played more 18 hole games, you'd get more accustomed to those games and would do better. I play all the 18's cause I do well in those relative to the rest of the field. Also there is less log jamming. Sometimes a decent 32 or so will net you just a few cr in a 9 hole tourney, as people get bunched up together - it's not worth your time unless you shoot lights out.. A 64 or 65 in a 18 hole tourney is really good however and likely would net you more credits than playing in two separate 9's and scoring a 32 and 33.

Oh I'm sorry, you must have the non-beta version of this game - where they force you to play ready gos - and fun is not allowed. :P

I don't get the logic. If credits don't matter, why not just play ranked/scored/alt shot games and not even look at the tourney lobby?

I do understand your point, and I am sure a LOT of folks don't like this particular set of ready-go's. But the same could be said for any rotation.

Take a look at the rotation for the current Hustle. These were voted on by the participants.

    1. Congressional

    2. RSG

    3. Beth Page

    4 St. Andrews

    5 Kiawah

So according to that pool of players, St.A is one of the least favorite courses.

It's all subjective... The fun for me is just doing my best within the parameters I'm given, so...

whatever. I'll just keep hitting it.

Well, as a Legend, you should know why SA and Kaiwah are at the bottom..and most of those (if not all?) in the Hustle are Legends.

Notice Oakmont is not there either?

I'd assume CCC and RSG are at the top because the past few months they've been over played from Open Quals, so everyone is more comfortable with them.

BPB sets up (IMO) for the most part, a bit easier as a Legend than as a Master/TM.

Regardless, SA is and always will be fun..i/e yesterdays Legend F9 at SA I shot a 30, today a 35...it's just a fun course to play and I agree, it's be nice to see it stay in the rotation.
