Seems strange that a tour champion plays in the rookie section ! Has an ave of less than 55 , and -14 after 18 holes doesn’t exactly give others much of a chance ! Oh well perhaps he just has no confidence playing against same level players !

Hi mate, just starting out on the WGT App beta, don't even know how to choose rookie/pro/whatever other section available, that's what WGT gave me as option, I did not see a section where I could choose

If you do let me know where I could do that,  I'll appreciate it. Thank you.

I play mobiles iPad , don’t know if that is different to what you play. But when you first go into showdown , at the top there are three options rookie, veteran and the third I think is expert. Default is rookie , you pay slightly higher credits to enter the other two competitions , and I think you play in higher value coin rooms to complete your rounds. The prizes are obviously higher too , as the entry fees are higher . Once you have entered the showdown you are in that one for the full tournament , so if you didnt notice the options that’s why you will be in rookie.

Thank You, I will try to look for it in "Windows WGT App" > If available I'll try that next time. I may not be finishing this round(/final round). I have been experimenting with the App & learning to play as it may be the only future(for WGT) after Adobe Flash based browser game ends.

Thanks for your clear instructions, appreciate your help.

The issue is that the names (Rookie/Veteran/Expert) really have nothing to do with the sill level of who is allowed to enter each tier. They’re all basically the same and are only differentiated by how many Credits you wish to spend to enter (10/100/500or1000??)

what really should be done in regards to the showdowns is there should be a few different classes similar to the way WGT Tournaments have Tier based entry requirements. Then each one could have 2 or 3 Credit levels

Yes I agree totally.playing in Paris room , obviously a tour champion would easily win against an opponent , but the showdown is based on scores , so it doesn’t matter who you play really as long as you can obtain a low score ,

I believe the following is correct or up to date..

Rookie 10 credit entry, played in Paris (100 coin),  ball prize was L47 TM

Veteran  100 credit entry, played in Casablanca (10k coin), ball prize was L40 Titleist

Expert  1000 credit entry, played in Montreal (100k coin), ball prize was L87 Titleist

--- you find TC in every "division" in part due to the still new nature of the event and that mobile / early access is not always obvious in what is needed to navigate or select the appropriate division.

That said, the first time a TC plays Rookie and wins you figure they were just trying to figure things out or didn't know how to select the other division... the second time, they appear to be targeting that division... to each their own I guess.

I personally feel the "expert"  and possibly even Veteran should be played off the back tees... playing expert for 1000 credits and using jacked up sponsor apparel... you have to practically birdie or eagle everything or you would feel like you are giving strokes away to the mobile coin game specialist and elite players.

I agree with what you say too. I think WGT are bringing things out without doing sufficient planning or consumer poles , because I think we as players can see the system can be abused , and is a long way from being fair for all . What do the beginners think of seeing tc players in something called rookie , and what do they think of seeing -14 on 18 holes !
