By the number of withdraw's there are in a ready go for Royal St. George 18 holes in heavy wind, this looks to be the toughest round available (and with the greens acting like v.fast not tournament)

This is what we need, tough rounds which keep scores average!!!

Even without heavy winds, I have found this course increasingly difficult from when it was first launched. I find the greens particularly difficult to read and as a result don't make half the birdies I feel I should. Heavy winds just adds to my confusion even though I have played many many rounds in these conditions on St Andrews.

Yesterday I was -4 after 4 holes and I thought I'd cracked it, never made another birdie til the 16th. I enjoy the challenge of this RG but I don't half find it frustrating....

Yes, compensation for the winds is much more than heavy winds at SA, yesterday was frustrating, 7 birdies, 5 bogies...today only one slip up missing a 4 foot birdie, but playing the winds the course wants and not how I thought it should be, 7 birdies, no bogies.

Same here, the other day i came 3rd with a 65 LOL, today i got 5 birdies, 3 bogeys, but one thing i notice with #9, no matter how far left i aim, i always seem to run off the green to right of pin.

But the greens are no way tournament greens they are more like v. fast, i had a 1.4 foot putt where i give 2.5 feet of power where as on usuall tourney greens i would slam the hole this happened...CAME SHORT. YIPES It was like they changed to Slow!!! LOL

definitely a challenge in these winds...

I like playing it. It kinda feels good that you can make a few bogies and still feel you are in the hunt. Just have to manage the course well, and don't blow your birdie chances!

WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!  Had an incredibly frustrating round in the RG on RSG... Hit it great tee-to-green (avg distance for 18 holes was inside 10 feet, with high winds), yet managed to make a GRAND total of 39 feet worth of putts for the entire round, which works out to about 2 feet per hole.

I'm still a respectable -5 on the 18th tee when I hit it into a bunker off the tee (the wind was NOT my friend, either, but I've come to expect that.. average drive with the R11 was about 260).  30-40 lie and it took me 3 shots to get out with a sand wedge.. triple bogey... SUCK IT WGT...

Shutting it down early tonight.. some days WGT just gives you the big EFF YOU shot after shot...

Well, I didn't stay away very long... ;)  Played RSG back 9 RG and shot 28... fortunately I hit the ball close enough that I had no-brainers for birdie putts..

I just finished a 18 hole RG here...man...I have a headache I tell ya.  Probably the best -4 I've ever posted, no bogies...

Thing was only downwind hole was the first par 5, back nine short par 4...the one with all the humps, bumps and traps, and 18...all other holes were 27-30mph in my face or pointing at 7 or 5 o'clock.  Wore out my 3 and 4 irons I tell ya.

Gonna go get some beer and decompress...lol

Sounds like you had the same conditions I did MB.  I had the win behind me on those same two holes.. got lucky on the short par 4 with all the trouble (managed to avoid the bunkers).. the rest of the round was exhausting..
