  Any thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

  As far as I can recall, the mobile platform has always had an auto tap-in mode for very short putts (< 1 foot, IIRC). I've never figured out what the parameters or requirements are for it to activate. But it's only engaged for single-player rounds. 
  
  If there's some place in the settings to disable the feature, I'm not aware of it.

  That happens sometime on mobile also, when it happens it says auto tap in

  3 feet for beautiful shot.

  I could see it missing the putt also from 1 foot

  I see it all the time, doesn't help me learn how to make those short putts though.

  On the screen it says, "Performing Auto-Click" then suddenly my avatar pulls back the putter BY ITSELF and continues to make the putt

  Okay, it happened again. This time on Kiawah Front 9 Hole #1.

  However, this time the putt was from within 1ft. My guess is there is some sort of Gimme taking place here.

  Happens only when you play a single-player mode ranked round. Interestingly, apparels are allowed. Use this information as you wish.
