I would think the easiest way to solve any swing meter issues would be to reduce CPU resources at the time the individual starts his/her swing.   This would probably be accomplished by freezing any background tasks that do not influence the speed of the meter.  For example rippled water movement drain alot of resources due to the flash component nature of the graphics.   Secondly, why not make the entire control local to the users machine.

Then question arises how to prevent people from cheating if this were the case.  I'm sure there are methods in Java that can get a list of all software running in the background including browser plugins. The site can take the necessary steps by contacting any individual via email to determine any background tasks they don't recognize. Just my two cents worth.

Umm.. there is no rippling water in the game... they are pictures... not graphics.

And as for WGT being able to email me if they dont recognize what i am running on my pc while i play golf... i think i'll pass. Big Brother doesn't need to get involved in fixing a swing meter.... pretty sure there are less intrusive ways to do it.

Yes there is,  look at #8 BPB as an example.

It depends if you have 'reflections' turned on or off in the options menu. most people (IMO) turn them off to alleviate stutter problems with the swing meter.

I stand corrected. I have always disabled reflections in an attempt to make the meter run somewhat like it was intended to run although it doesn't anyway... so i might as well turn them back on and enjoy the scenery.

I think that they should replace tri-click for tru-swing then there is no meter to worry about!! Because of my vision i will never get better with tri-click but i can get as good as the pros with tru-swing

Thanks for the info on reflections, turning it off and comparing game performance for the next week or so.

As for the scenery I marvel at it during multi-player rounds.  Sometimes, you get alot of useful information that you might not normally see during single play rounds.

How about a few notches on the swing meter so you can better judge how strong you need to swing, especially when puttig.

Turning off the flag animation seemed to help me also. Anything that's animated would cause more CPU usage imo.

Also, I run my graphics quality in the game at medium, it helped ALLOT and I barely noticed a difference in the graphics.

I also am always sure to close the main WGT window when i start playing. It has flash animations on it too that slow you down.

One last thing....you may want to try gamebooster. Just search it on google and download it.

    Hope that helps you :)
