Completely agree with Andy.
I think, the issue is not if it is useful or not to have the mini map or its size, I think that in many situations it is useful and in others it may be bothering to aim properly.
I think what would be good is to have the possibility of hiding or moving it, depending on the circumstances and convenience of each one.
