Disconnect problems

  Why can't WGT address the issues with players disconnecting in MPC, and that causes the game to have an error for the other player, then you are forced to close the browser, because everything just freezes, etc., no fault of your own, but it keeps screwing up, even though one player didn't really disconnect, but the game freezes, then after it does this a couple of times, you wind up having to forfeit the match, because you supposedly disconnected 3 times.  This bug has been in the MPC since it was rolled out.  WGT seems to be oblivious to the problem, and never addresses it.  All one ever gets from WGT is can you note the problem and file a bug report by right clicking, etc. DUH!!! the game is frozen and it boots you because of the FAMOUS "There has been an unknown error" message.  Can't WGT simply test this disconnect problem by playing a MPC with 2 players, where one disconnects, and they simply observe the BS that goes on from there.  It is so frustrating that this has been a known bug since day one of MPC and WGT seems to have no clue why, or how, or when it occurs.  I know I am not the only player that experiences this credit robbing problem!!!!

  hi

  we have in good detail. i even tested several times recently with mrenn and we just can't reproduce it. the problem is that bug is not a bug until it can be consistently reproduced.

  if someone has the steps to consistently reproduce the bug, please share :)

  yes preach on sister, i too have had that problem occur and no we cant reproduce it consistently because its a wgt error not the players.  I also have loss money to this problem and recently messed up our league matches because of it. wgt should do somthing about this problem

  Yup. Happens to me and that message comes up at least 1 out of 3 MPC's. Only lost credits twice, but very annoying.

  It's happen to me a few times too ICON, mostly on a Saturday morning Australian Eastern time (whatever you call it...lol)

  so how many times does a person have to submit the problem by right clicking and choosing submit bug?  1, 100, 1000?  I have given you at the minimum 8 reports at the time it happens.  Why do you have the report bug option if it doesnt do you any good towards fixing the bug?  Is it just to make us feel like we are doing something?

  Also, when players quit and the game does not freeze, the experience points awarded at the end of the round are only for the players who finished.  So if 4 start and 2 quit (a reasonable situation) the two finishing players will only get experience points for the 2 player game.  Even if the other 2 players disconnect at the last shot on the last hole.

  It is not right that the remaining players get penalized for not quitting.  How about subtracting the same amount of points from players who willingly disconnect?  Place a warning stating that x amount of experience points will be subtracted.  If the player is disconnected for other than specifically ending the round no penalty is applied. 

   Im sure the master programmers could handle these requests, if not get new programmers.

  I am having a problem with wgt when im playing game a small box ops up saying I lost connecton to the WGT server do I want to tryto rcoect click yes o no sometimes it reconnects and sometimes it doesn't . Sometimes this happens three four times during a game  is anyon else haing this problem or is it something with my cmputer

  Many players have such problems but hardly a solution is available.

  Practice rounds will be gone for good, multiplayer games may be dropped as forfeits (frequently, I hear), but you will almost certainly be able to continue a single, ranked game.

  But, I appreciate that you pulled up this old thread, showing early evidence from 2011!

  I get disconnected when saving a replay while in MPC and then, have to re-open game window.  The replay does not get saved either.
