Hi, Need help for something like this. Approach shot to green 100 yards out. Wind from 3 o'clock telling me the drift is 10 yards. Is there a tool available that ill show me what 10 yards looks like on the green or is it just a guessing game on all courses?

The flagsticks are 7 feet high but 4 inches of it is in the cup so basically what you see is 80", or just under 7 feet.

What version of the game game you playing? Flash, PCEA, mobile.

On PCEA & mobile, I use 5 feet for each square. On Flash the aim box is 10 feet. On the flash version I use Scott Hopes ruler. Look on his profile page.

edit: sorry, it's feet not yards.  I fixed it. LOL

It cant be done with any regularity because WGT is so unpredictable. They may tell you the wind speed at ground level. In the air the wind may be 2 to 3 times harder.

My question is how did he come up with 10 yard or 30 feet wind drift on a 100 yard shot? At 3 O’clock or 45 degrees a 100 yard shot the drift would be well over 40 feet with St. Andrews 30 mph gale force wind. But as a tour pro I don’t think he is seeing those kind of winds.

I have a feeling he is misunderstanding or misstating the wind effect on the ball......

here is young46's video on wind aiming.... It may help the understanding ..
