Yes, I know this is old news ,but i just finished an alt-play game with a master that has a 58 and change  average and that experience gave me a wake up call..LOL.I want paying attention, until hole 17 at st.andy .He's got an R11 and i'm spotting him 60  fkn yards!.So i looked him up ...level 91  with only 70 ranked stroke-play games. Can anyone spell sandbagger?IN essence we have to blame  WGT for revamping a once viable and sensible system into a house of cards..the dishonest always seems to capitalizes on loopholes.

You don't understand the theory of a sandbagger.  This guy with an average of 58 will soon move up to Tour Master and then Legend.  You saw he had that average and level and as I mentioned he will soon move up.   The true sandbagger is someone who maintains his average upward, not downward thus maintaining his average at a high enough level to keep his master status, and thus not move up to longer tees.

This player may have multiple accounts and thus progressed in skill so fast but he definitely isn't a sandbagger at least not right now.

he is master status and is not playing any ranked stroke games to increase his tier .he only has 70 ranked games. When i asked him  about sandbagging and not playing rank stroke play games he actually said he doesnt get involved in that type of game because of quitters [ cant even come up with a good lie about his dishonesty ].If  he doesn't play ranked games ,he remains as a Master.I fully understand sandbaggers. i played one of them. HE hasnt played the required number of games to raise his tier.Thats the loophole I was talking about.70 games in  9 months .And hes at level 92?It doesnt take a genius to see the nature of the beast here.thats alot of game play while avoiding any advancement.6 ranked games in Sept.LOL  ok your right ,he's not sandbagging!!  Once again I reiterate.......with WGT's current system it can be viewed as a reason to sandbag..the old system of each tier with their unique equipment was a fair and viable system .The current system is not based on fairness but solely for the almighty buck...if anyone plays long enough they get to buy the better more expensive clubs. I know sandbagging in actual golf is based on the handicap system etc. but deception is deception..the use of sandbagging was  a better analogy than  circumvention the system to receive better teebox location as an advantage against similar talent.

I e-mailed WGT about players with few ranked rounds and thousands of match play and alt shot games...all sub-legends with sub-60 averages...WGT's canned response was that it uses an algorithm, which includes the number of ranked rounds....really?  I never thought of that!  Why not just tell me it happens because the moon is round?  I wholeheartedly agree that somehow, someway, non-ranked rounds play a part in figuring tier.  One player has over 1900 wins in 3000 alt shot matches and is not playing from the back tees.   Ridiculous....

we're on the same page Neil, but it seems that WGT is more interested in the almighty dollar as opposed to parody .With more people reaching higher levels the more new clubs are available to them.hence more revenue .I'm spotting as much as 60 yards on one hole to this master in alt-play with an R11 driver and a 58 average .How wgt sees this as leveling the playing field is an absolute farce

what comes around go around, but you might consider the new club that is in the making. A driver hits 653 yds, The problem is that you go from the third hole to the fifth hole, but they are working out details at this very moment

need some advice my score is 71.5 and my rank is tour pro, started in May and progressed like everybody else.Got to my current score and rank about two months ago.Because of personal preference I have almost exclusively played match games.I have improved no doubt but when I play the occasional stroke game I still shoot about even par. Here is the problem lately while in a match game i have been called a sandbagger and had some players simply quit. One person told me I needed to play more stroke play like it was some sort of requirement to safeguard against dishonesty.Still not sure why anyone would try to cheat in an online golf game, strikes me as a bit weird to be honest, unless there's something I am missing which is entirely possible.I am not interested in playing stroke play simply to change my rank(assuming it would change)but on the the other hand I am interested in finding out if  Iam doing something incorrectly and this bailing out and name calling by other players is annoying.I would appreciate any feedback.
