I believe if it's discontinued, it will not be removed from accounts, just new accounts will not have it nor it will be sold in pro shop (if it was).
I am not 100% sure but 99.99% sure. We generally follow grandfather rule, if you have it, it's yours. That's why there are level-level drivers and other clubs out there. Those are pre-august 2010.
Only time we may remove/change something to existing if it's really bugged or broken or something of that sort.
