Ability to save from fairway bunker.

    The lie in the fairway bunker is always deep/plugged. Fine if I land directly in the bunker but also if it just rolls down. It's impossible to reach the green with a long iron from the bunker in this game.

    I've never had a good lie in the bunker. But IRL it's quite common.

    Yes, that's true and (over the years) has been commented on by many. It's one aspect of the game that's truly penal. 

    Bottom line is that one learns to simply take one's medicine and make the best of the situation. Of course, avoiding fairway bunkers is also an option. 😉

    Rough is better than a fairway bunker unless the bunker is less than 80 yards to the hole. It's just a thing about the game. avoid fairway bunkers at all cost. hit the SW out for about 80 yards.

    adjust math from there.
