I wanted to know if it were possible to edit equipment during the single player mode practice rounds.  You are playing by yourself and it would benefit players when they are testing out different balls level balls and clubs.  Is this something that has been brought up before?

The "closed bag" is an iron principle stemming from the Rules of Golf. It will hardly be modified ever.

Does that golden rule apply to practice rounds?  When Pros play Monday and Tuesday before the tournament are they or are they not permitted to make adjustments?

Doesn't make a difference in what you think the pros can or cannot do.  Once you start the game here, you may not edit any equipment.  Start the game with what you want to test. play a hole, exit game, change equipment, start a new game and test different equipment.

IRL, it applies whenever you play golf, which is by the rules.

Here, it's a condition set by the software: No access to the inventory while in any game, only limited ball purchases.
