One other observation... There is a separate tournament just for Steam players that is also called the "Qualifier". However, the prize money is different and it does not say anything about it actually qualifying for the virtual U S Open.

Am I right in assuming that the top players in that tournament do not qualify? If they do not qualify, I wonder if they are aware of that fact. There are a handful of good scores posted there already.

Virtual U.S. Open Qualifier on Steam

    TORREY PINES GOLF COURSE

"Play the main event of the 2021 Virtual U.S. Open, featuring 18 holes of unlimited stroke play on Torrey Pines, host of this year's U.S. Open Championship for a 50K WGT Credit purse. As a special gift from the USGA everyone who enters the Qualifier will also receive a Lexus virtual golf ball and Lexus-branded Putter Pal, and you can get exclusive, free Lexus apparel in the Pro Shop for a limited time. Free to enter and open to WGT players on Steam only, see rules for details and eligibility."

Not sure where you found that?

One of the players in my club has played in it. It is a completely different leaderboard. Below are the top 3. I am pretty sure that leaderboard will not count towards qualifying.

EDIT: The player in my club had no idea there were two different tournaments until I told him. That is why I brought it up here.

    1 ordinal  Transgressional Country Club 124 54
    2 JSmithers  C0BRA KAI 115 56
    2 thunderbird  C0BRA KAI 116 56

    Hey Brett,

Didn't we have a similar issue recently with the E-tour? Everyone that signed up and played early in the day ended up losing their score to the Official round after a reset?

Similar, but this seems to be intentional just for steam players. The prize money is even listed different and there is no mention of it actually qualifying players for the open.

My only concern is that the name is misleading to players.

I only been playing for 3 years actually. I had a life before I got cancer.

More importantly, why are you so ignorant lady?

    Get a grip, ffs...

Sorry for what happened to you.

Not sorry for what I wrote though, I just got fed up reading yet another in the long line of your posts regarding TP availability, spanning over few months and ranging from questioning from when and if the course will come to whether we will lose a course because of it. And considering long time players replied to your posts every time, stating the correct time frames for the TP rollout, the fact you're still posting this type of bs is what it's ignorant.

Btw, A is my ex and N is our son, no ladies here...

I'm a bit puzzled ...I have not tried steam but decided to download it today when WGT was crashing just to see if it worked on there...

Anyway I look at  The VUSO on steam and there is a totally different leaderboard (Like has been stated in this thread) But not only that I was gonna try a round on steam just for sh*ts and giggles and it was telling me to "Re-sign Up" for the VUSO ?? Even though I have already played it on the launcher ??  Steam is suspect if ya ask me ...Will be uninstalling it "Toot Sweet"

This is the point I was making... The steam tournament is a separate tournament just for steam users. It does not qualify players for the VUSO.

They had a monthly tournament just for steam as well.

Why can I only play Torrey Pines in the one single format. A tourney or a CTTH.

I thought you people were adding this Course to the mix?

Is it going to be added so that we can create our own game using Torrey?

Or is this just for a month and then you take it away and leave us with the same old?

Before we all have a cow, WGT has rolled out new US Open courses the same way for years.

    1st. month F9 ctth

    2nd. month B9 ctth, F9 still available

3rd month, VUSA Open qualifier, under their specs.  (All holes may not be back tees.  I remember when CB was rolled out, the 1st hole tee and a couple of others were moved up which happened in real tournament.  I assume they were talking to USGA.)

5th month or so: Course becomes available to club for club tournaments, etc.

One can like it or hate it, but this the standard pattern.  I told my club in March not to expect it in club tournaments before July.

Some of it may also be continued testing because I remember beta versions showing up unofficially on previous roll-outs (not within WGT but word spread).

    Tom.

The difference with the description from the app would seem to support what you say:  It's a cut and paste job.

In this second tournament of the USGA eSports Grand Slam Presented by Lexus, the top 156 scores (plus ties) from the qualifier will advance to the next round, competing for 10 spots in the live championship finale to win pre-paid gift cards, USGAShop.com gift cards and more. and  Open to all WGT players on eligible platforms has been cut from the main tournament description and 50K WGT Credit purse and open to WGT players on Steam only pasted into the steam one.

They've just been very lazy, especially leaving in the "Virtual U.S Open Qualifier" title.
