Is there a separate VUSO qualifier on steam?

I highly doubt it. Not a "separate" one.

However, I never would have imagined they would be stupid enough to call a tournament "qualifier" when it's not.

Sorry that was unclear I meant separate from the one discussed, or, is the real qualifier available on steam?

Out of curiosity I took a look at this in Steam and sure enough, it reads differently. I thought Steam was just another game launcher. How is it that they would have the ability to edit WGT stuff? It seems to me that if there is a discrepancy here, it must have been created by WGT. I sure would like to hear the rest of this story.I hope WGT Champion pipes up on this one.

Jim, when you are on steam can you actually access the real qualifier that you have played in? If so... Do you have to do it through "my tournaments" or are they both listed?

This is what I meant :-)

If you can't play the real one it becomes more likely (although still far from certain) that this is the qualifier (on steam) and the mistake is that the leader-boards aren't somehow linked.  Sorry not at my clearest today I just wondered if somehow the steam scores should go onto both leader-boards.

    I really don't think so.

That is why I brought it up though. It is very misleading to players and very confusing. My guess is that there is only one qualifier and steam players have some way to access it as well.

In "my tournaments", it is listed twice: Virtual US Open Qualifier In Steam & Virtual US Open Qualifier and yes I can access the one in which I played to qualify.

Both the leaderboards and prize money are different in each.

PS   I've been trying to figure out why the two accesses to the US Open Qualifier. Although I can't see it, I am sure that it is a ploy by Steam to get WGT players to use the Steam launcher. Its got me confused.

It seems only one is the qualifier, the other is a badly named tournament for steam players only.

Is it likely Steam have anything to do with the setting of tournaments?  It looks to me like wgt have set this to encourage folk to play on steam, although I've no idea why they'd want to do that.  Already you get better deals buying credits and equipment there and after Steam take their cut even less of the cash will be going to wgt.

Maybe someone should ask in the Steam forum about this tournament as I can't see anything there so far.

    Exactly

And yes, I think it is just an added benefit for steam. They do the same thing with mobile. I have noticed a weekly 9 hole unlimited that is for mobile only. I also stumbled across an April 18 hole tournament for steam only. I forget which course, I think it was St Andrews. I stumbled across it while looking at a players profile. It had the same name as a tournament I was in and I was baffled as to why I wasn't on the leaderboard at first. Then I saw the "steam" at the end of the description on the leaderboard.
