could someone please inform me as to why someone who is master tier and unable move down tiers would be a sandbagger? it just doesn't make sense to me why some of the top players are being accused of sandbagging when there is no reason to under perform.

Yep i like to know this aswell! Seems common courtesy is a concept lost on some people here.

Well before there were Matchplay Challenges there was no reason.  It was actually called "Reverse Sandbagging" and it didn't do anyone else any harm except the player who was trying to preserve a false average and essentially fooling themselves, and those they quit on in a multiplayer round.

Now however I can see the true nature of the term in the Master tier as some seem to feel it is necessary to inflate their average in order to bait an unsuspecting pro or high average master into a credit match.  Moral of the story:  Know who you are playing with/against.... do your research first!  After all that's friends lists are for.... (forgive the pun)

Yes always a good idea to play with friends here. I dont play MP challenges and enjoy ladder games far more than pickups. I can see how a Master could inflate their average to appear as a weaker player, and how one should be wary of that, but also I think you should just play your own game and not expect weaknesses in another player to give you the win. Moral is if youre not shooting low scores - dont play for credits. Simple

Theres a long list of players that we have never even heard of before the "Match Play Challenge" option came along. They're coming out of the wood work and they're ready to feed so do what has been suggested and do a back ground check on the competition if at all possible. It's sad to see but not unexpected in the gambling realm of the world. Most gamblers don't like to work for a living so they will do whatever it takes to keep from it,even if it means a little unsavory behavior.Don't worry about running into GIT in the MPC part of the game simply because I don't want to get gamed.I liked WGT before they added this and I still like the WGT but that part of it is not for me.

Know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em.I fold

It is true, practice pays off. BUT, when people shoot 54 on round 1 at Bethpage then something is definitely wierd. What kind of gadgets are they using to reach such ridiculous LOWS. I dont know, maybe they are that good or maybe they've found something to slow the swing meter down so much that they never Miss-Hit??? Hey, if there is something, can anyone allaborate? Anyway, I love this game either way. The meeting new people and the competition, it's just great. Game On!

The record for the lowest 18-hole score on the PGA Tour is 59. This score has been posted three times in tour history:

    • Al Geiberger: 1977 Memphis Classic (29-30), Colonial Country Club (par 72)

    • Chip Beck: 1991 Las Vegas Invitational (30-29), Sunrise Golf Club (par 72)

    • David Duval: 1999 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic (31-28), PGA West (Palmer Course) (par 72)

now i wasn't aware of the fact above, but I imagine these players didnt play the course they scored 59 on over and over and over and over and over again, 20+ times a week with limited variations,

i have played many times with the player who has recently scored 54 and he is genuine. a nice guy who has LEARNED to master the game. i've played with him when he has had an off day and still scored 31.

everybody miss hits..  but the best players no where to miss hit. take BPB #3 par 3. if you do miss hit then miss right because missing left will either land in bunker or over shoot the green

i personally dont think cheats are being used but if there are cheats out there then why oh why would people use a cheat to win monopoly money? it is just plain stupidity.

I am not naive. I do not care what you are talking about, golf, politics or anything else, People do cheat. Why? Everybody has a different motive. Because this is for monopoly money I do not believe that is the motive. Some people are "odd" They love to see their name associated with a lower score than anyone else. If you are of that ilk, that is more than enough motivation to cheat. I am sure the man you played with is a very nice man, but I do not think anyone is smart enough to know someone by playing mousketeer games.

I must admit, I would like to shoot that score, but that is not what makes me tick. Unfortunately that does make some people tick. You see the flood of posts by certain people. Why? What is the motivation to have to post 10-20-30 times a day. Sure would like to know, but my guess is some people crave attention, just like the low score shooters. Nothing wrong with this. That is their makeup

It is my guess that you are naive and stupid. Just play. Play the game. Don't trouble yourself with what you think.  Doing so is very silly.
