Old equipment

  Any sense in keeping this?

  Am I hoping for too much that WGT will eventually change things, and give us a fair price for our old equipment rather than the crap 25% we are given now?

  I probably have 1k of credits in trade-in value for my old clubs, but i'm loathe to let them go as the resell value is just so ludicrously low that it doesn't seem worth my while.

  WGT gives you about the same thing that any pro shop or golf store gives for used clubs no matter how new they actually are.In 2007 I bought a Taylor Made R7 draw driver and really didn't care for it that much.Due to the 13 degree loft it balooned a lot and I lost much distance. 6 months later I traded it in on a Cobra LD m speed driver. Though the Taylor Made was almost perfect and cost $300 new I only got $50 in trade.That is slightly less than 17%.Much less than the 25% WGT gives.

  It sucks Glas, but borntobesting is right on with what he's saying.

   

  I would like to see WGT allow us to gift our old sets to players that may not be able to buy any, but let's be honest.. this will not ever happen, as we know it's all about profit.  Let's just be glad they haven't figured out that they can program in a snapped club head here or there for a little more profit. :)  By the way.. not complaining, as they are only doing what a business is suppose to do.  I'm glad that they let others have starter kits and unlimited balls so all can enjoy this great game.

  I think the gifting of old sets to other players would be a excellent idea. Would you still do it if they charged a small fee?

  Sure I would.. it would beat having to pay a full price to gift it otherwise.  While I understand business and turning a profit.. I think they overlook that they would maintain a larger user base if they allowed this, as a lot give up at a certain point when their starter clubs aren't cutting it anymore and they can't afford/ don't have an option to load money for credits.

  I guess I'm just a sucker for wanting everyone to have an equal chance at enjoying this great game.

  My thought was maybe they could charge a small percentage of the purchase price of the gifted item. Charged to the person gifting. That way wgt could still make money.

  Earleir this year i got a trade in value of $200 for my ping G15 towards the R11.
