Only WGT knows how they will implement this.
My best guess would be that it would start tracking from the date of the update.
I am sure that they will give a full explanation when they bring this feature online.

As i am also a new player i took the time to look that info up myself since 80% of the online games i've played i've seen players quit for missing putts or bad drives, which is funny, because im not the best player, but i will finish a game!-Z
