Welcome to the 2021 Andyson Memorial Sign up
This tournament was started to honor the memory of a fallen WGT player Dennis "Andyson" Anderson. This is its 6th year and is about about meeting new players and having fun. It is open to all people on WGT, however mobile only players will not be eligible for match play, WGT to my knowledge does not allow cross platform for those matches.
It consist of two stages a qualifying round then a match play round and a stroke play round. You can enter match play and/or stroke play but must complete qualifying rounds to participate. When you sign up you must specify which second stage tournament you wish to enter by stating "BOTH", "STROKE", or "MATCH"
The Qualifying round is 2 18hole rounds at two different course. This will be 2 scored/ranked rounds and not Country Club Tournaments or WGT tournaments. Can be played alone or with others. You will have two weeks to complete both rounds. Scores will then be posted in 2021 Andyson Sign up (this folder). Only the first score in score history for that time period will count. Best combined score for each tier level (plus ties) will get an automatic entry into Match play round if you entered and all who complete it will be eligible for stroke play portion if entered for it.
The Match play will be up to 64 players, the top tier finishers (plus ties) and rest of field to be randomly chosen from all that entered and completed qualifying rounds. Positions in tournament will be random. There will be no handicap. If more than 64 players are eligible those not randomly chosen will be held in reserve and used if players drop out(this will only be available for first round play). If less than 64 are eligible then byes will be added. Failure to complete a round I will choose at random 1 player to advance (keep in mind the person I see as making the best effort to get game in will be the one to advance). Each round will last up to 2 week (once all matches completed next round will begin). Scores will be posted in 2021 Andyson tournament folder in WGT main forum. It is up to players entered to arrange the match. The two players involved can decide time clock concede and apparel.
The stroke play this year will be slightly different. It will be a last man standing or survivor series. This mean each round of stroke you will need to score the target or better to advance for first round you will need to score par or E, second round -1 or better, third round -2 and so on. These will be 18holes scored/ranked rounds no CC or WGT tournaments and you can play alone or with others. If all players fail to reach target score then all players with best score will advance If that is 1 player then he will be stroke play winner. Each round will be 7 days.
Good luck and have tons of fun
