The Red Dot on your avatar (top right corner on main menu screen) is supposed to indicate that you have a new piece of apparel and possibly equipment in your inventory. It's just a reminder letting you know that there's something new that you can use, similar to how when there's a new message, daily spin or CDP there will be a red dot next to the "Daily Bonus" at bottom of screen.
