I purchased some of the new Callaway L-97 balls at a staggering price of 1450 credits a sleeve. I normally play with the Titleist L-93 at 1225 a sleeve; also spendy. Both balls have nice stats although the Callaway is a bit better however the attraction for me is slow meter. I am not a high enough level player to be able to see much difference in actual play but what I am seeing is that my meter is noticeably smoother which results in more dings and improved putting. I plan to use it for a month just to satisfy my curiousity then I will likely return to my Titleist. I would like to hear from others who are trying out this new Callaway.

I have not tested the new Callies, but I am curious about your opinion/observations about the TItleist lvl 93. I’m trying a sleeve of the TItleist at the moment.

I can share though that I watched a mapping exercise for the new Callies and read some comments that were posted during the exercise. The consensus was nice ball, but a little too inconsistent given the price tag.

OK, I've used this new Callaway budget buster ball for about two weeks and here is my opinion of it. I can't find anything wrong with it but I also can't find anything about it that makes it worth that kind of dough.  A friend told me he thinks the only time it might be worth using is if you are playing one of those high stakes tournaments which is unlikely that I ever would. I think he is right. Anyway, I have satisfied my curiousity. My advice: Save your $$$. Its like the gold putter or the hickory driver. You can't knock the quality but it still won't work miracles.
