So I decided to take the majority of advice on wedges in a previous thread and went with the top level Clevelands along with a better ball.  I've been getting them as I unlock them and now only have to wait a few days for level 80 to unlock the 64.  The first several rounds, I was questioning my decision.. being a long time Satin user, but now that I'm learning to control the spin, I'm confident that I made the best decision.

The following replay is only the second time everything was perfect to try backing the ball up to the pin with a full shot and max Back Spin.. I didn't think I was going to make it, but all of the shots that I've seen replays that I've seen made me have to try it.  Lo and behold it dropped for my first eagle with these wedges.

Backing it up into the cup for eagle

Thanks again to all of you that offered advice and feedback on my previous thread.. it didn't fall on deaf ears.

    Brooks

I'm in the same position as you, waiting for level 80 for the 64. Finding the Clevelands to be excellent especially out of the rough/sand.

Word of caution on the CG64-there's a bit of a learning curve if you're spoiled by the Satin64.  I see a lot of CG80 and 100 wedges with that Satin64 because it is so easy to learn and master. The CG is 10 yards longer and spin has quite a radical affect on it, unlike the Satin.

It's well worth going to but just be warned, you'll have to relearn it.

to expand on what YJ said. The CG64 will back up even if you dont put TS on it, great wedges that with the 's' ball and some TS will stop on the side of a dime.

Thanks YJ and GSoup for the heads up on the 64 wedge.  It sounds like it's going to take some getting use to as well, as I've used the 64 satin since the day I unlocked it.  I'll certainly be holding on to it.. if nothing more for some of the CTTH and blitz games.

I use the Ping Level42 64 and have been holing a lot of shots recently, starting to have second thought about upgrading.

I ended up going with the lower level 64 Cleveland due to a lot of people telling me that I might have some big issues with the higher level 64.  I kept the 64 satin, but I had been running into a lot of spots where I needed a little more.  So far, the higher level 56 and 60 along with the lower level 64 seem to we working out great.  I finally hit TM which was a plus too.  I'm going to hold out on the Burners and see what everyone is saying about the new irons in a few weeks before I make a move.  I'm happy with the G10s at the moment.  (I see you got stuck buying the Burners just prior to update Pryke) OUCH.

Yeah, not the best time to buy lol. Not a big deal as I'm level 79 so a long way off level 90 and so far I've played well with them. Much more forgiving then the G10's and the faster meter, although difficult, has made the ding easier to hit on my slower meter'd clubs.

Don't worry, Pryke. The reason there's a bit of a learning curve going from the Satin to the CG is because the CG is 10 yards longer. I believe you already go 60 yards with your wedge so your move should be seamless. Go for it.  ;-)

Yesterday bought the 64 Cleveland...wow, the chip and pitch shots check up quickly. Hit a chip shot, full whack (7yards approx) & full backspin, ball landed about 3yards and stopped within half a yard...once I get used to that its going to be deadly.
