    BPeterson8256:

Here are the results from Week 1. mrshanestaley won the random drawing. This sets a record for the most I have ever spent on a sleeve of balls 😂🤣 I normally gift the ball I use, but since I didn't specify, a sleeve of Titleist has been sent.

    Week 1:

31 - mrshanestaley  *Random Drawing Winner*

    33 - Gepetto1958

    34 - AlaskanDame

    35 - HamdenPro

    37 - bossbird

    38 - pmm711

    38 - JBIII9

Oh no I sent Brett into sticker shock!!!

I use those because it's the ball that comes in those 2 nice Steam WGT bundles. If you all have not taken advantage of the Steam bundles you should check them out...free balls AND clubs when you buy 2000 credits in Steam.

😂 It was a little sticker shock, but it's all good. Thank you for the rebate. The sleeve was not necessary, but is much appreciated. Thanks for the tip on the Steam bundle too. It is always nice to see more ways to get a good deal.

    Cheers

Chambers did me wrong right out of the shoot with the wind in my face at #1 and made bogey there. I birdied #2 to get back on track.  Overall I had 3 pars (3rd, 5th & 9th), 3 bogeys (1st, 6th & 7th) & 3 birds (2nd, 4th, & 8th).  Here were my dropped clubs by hole...

    #1 - 4 iron

    #2 - 6 iron

    #3 - PW

    #4 - 60 degree wedge

    #5 - 56 degree wedge

    #6 - 8 iron

    #7 - 7 iron

    #8 - 5 iron

    #9 - Driver

    Finished even par 36

    37 for me this morning.

Double bogie on number 1 when I significantly missed the ding on my drive and put my ball in the deep rough (two strokes to get out).  First shot of the day, guess I should have had more coffee before I started my round.

The only other notable gaff was a 1.7 ft birdie putt on 8 that I missed.  Nothing hard about the putt at all, guess their must have been a pebble from someone's sand trap shot left on the green which my ball found and sent it off course.

Here are the clubs I dropped:

    1 - 4i

    2 - 3W

    3 - 60 deg

    4 - 9i

    5 - 8i

    6 - 7i

    7 - PW

    8 - 56 deg

    9 - 3i

I am not a fan of Chambers Bay. But enjoyed the challenge none the less.

I knew I was going to want to keep my long irons for later so I started ditching short clubs early. Here is my summary:

#1) 60 degree wedge - Hit my 3 wood into green and was 9 feet above the hole, made the bender putt for bird.

#2) 8 iron - Hit 100 yard wedge 12 feet past but made the bird coming back.

#3) 56 degree wedge - After hitting it long on last hole I dropped it. Teed off with 4 iron to 3 feet and sunk the bird for -3 woo hoo!

#4) 7 iron - Drove tee shot into bunker, punched the short wedge out to 119 from pin so hit full PW in to 5 feet above hole. Missed the birdie putt *was down 3.5 inches from 5 feet : 0

#5) 4 iron - Hit the PW to 6 feet and made bird for -4.

#6) PW - Here is where I messed up...was 210 away but no 4 iron so I hit an easy 3 iron, got a heartbeat but was 10 feet away and missed the putt.

#7) 9 Iron - Not sure what I was thinking here, already missing 7 & 8 irons plus the 2 longer wedges. Had to hit 6 iron 80% shot that landed short and rolled all the way through the green and off the back 14 yards away. Pitched the short wedge down to 3 feet and made par.

#8) 3 iron - kept the 5 & 6 cause wasn't sure what the number would be on #9. Tee shot ended up 70 yards out so had to hit 64 wedge with FTS came up 12 feet short. Putt sailed 4 feet past and made the par coming back.

#9) Driver - Went with the 5 iron here and still barely made it onto the green 15 feet short. Missed the bird but made par.

Ended up with -4 ... 32. Very happy with that at Chambers!

I'm happy with 32 also, though it is not enough to best mrshanestaley overall.

I, too, wanted to keep longer clubs for later, but I had forgotten that I should keep my 180 for hole 9, and it turned out a tailwind on #8 made the 3W unnecessary for that hole.

Here's what I dropped and scored:

    1.  75 W: Par

    2. 5i:  Bird

    3. 7i: Par (had a tailwind so wished I had kept the 5i, but punched the 4i to within 7 feet.  Missed the birdie putt though)

    4.  120 wedge:  Bird (same as above re: 5i, but settled for bunker then bird after trusty out with 50 wedge)

    5.  3i: par

    6. 100 wedge: bird!  (Had a nasty headwind and really wanted my 3i, but my 210-yarder got me to 24 feet below the hole and the putt went in!)

    7.  6i: par

    8.  8i: bird.  (With 14-16 tailwind, I only needed the 210 4-iron to get to the green in 2.  But, for some reason the ball held up on the lower edge of the back fringe.  It was a -3 putt, but fortunately the fringe helped with that.  I hit the putt about power of 2 and it corkscrewed to where I could sink the birdie putt)

    9.  Driver and 3W, lol:  Par.  I totally didn't have the right club left - which would have been the 6i, so I punched the 210 4i again.  Took too much off and wound up in a bunker.  Trusty 50 wedge got me to par save distance.)

Thanks for the comp, Brett.  Fun!

Thank you all for playing. This ends the DAC Challenge. The efforts put into the Simpatico Springs WGT Tour last year and having a little fun here with this are going to be refocused towards growing Simpatico Springs and making it a fun environment for those there. If you or anyone you know ever want to stop by and see what is going on there, you are more than welcome.

My starting the club last year was some what of a failure. WGT is not set up for what I wanted Simpatico Springs to be. I was hoping to create a place players could come and visit and then return to their "home club", but for many reasons that simply doesn't work with the WGT set up of country clubs. Still, we welcome anyone and they can come and go as often as they please.

    For Love Of The Game
