it evolved in my back yard in 1974
Old GF moved to Hawaii, I asked to send a couple of seeds of the most prominent strains to me.
What arrived was one strain called "elephant d-i-c-k", because of the size of the center bud
The other was called "Kona Bud"
grew them to 6 inches, then grafted them to each other......
On a dare, I sent the new strain to "High Times" magazine
Told them I was an east coast grower with a short season. I never named it. Sent it along anyway.
Surprisingly, they gave me an honorable mention...
They explained the short season & admitted I hadn't named it. They said they would name it for me.
They called it "Wheelchair Weed", because "You take 3 hits, & you need a wheelchair"
I laughed the best laugh of my life when I received that bone.
I still have seeds left over. I am not a fan of short grows. I like full fruition plants. 8-12 feet tall. 3 -7 pounds per plant.
At $3000.00 per pound back then (couple years back) the plants can be worth up to $15,000.00 per.
10 & you're sitting pretty nice on a tax-free side hustle
No wonder big pharma has been putting the kibosh on self-medicating with it........
Too bad!
